Dean Streck
COO - V I Engineering
Dean Streck, a BSEE Dean's List graduate from Lehigh University, joined V I Engineering in January 1994 as a Sales Engineer. As the first and only sales person (next to Bob Jacobs), Dean single-handedly began to grow the company through increased sales. His strong customer satisfaction orientation, along with his resourceful ability to adapt quickly to sales opportunities has brought V I Engineering to where it is today. He quickly learned the success of selling what the customer needs. He has refined the sales proposal approach to include templates, checklists, and review procedures that have contributed overall to lowering the project overrun rate by 10%. These procedures have aided in the training of new sales engineers and have been essential in the "up to speed" growth for many new employees.
As both Dean and the company grew, Dean was able to apply his sales and organizational abilities to many other areas of need throughout the company. His Marketing skills enabled V I E to progress through the ranks of National Instruments' hierarchy to ultimately become a Select Integrator for that organization. That kind of prestige has enabled V I E to further enhance their image among their customer base. Dean has initiated and driven the quest for better quality marketing materials, a new updated logo to better reflect the company's 21st Century image, and has constantly put forth new ideas to create Websites, press releases, publicity and many other marketing advantage materials.
Dean was V I E's first NI trainer. He was instrumental in making V I E an official Michigan NI Training site. Dean's technical ability, combined with his outgoing and social personality, has made his contribution to V I E' s training platform invaluable. He is the lead trainer for all in-house training and regularly trains employees at all offices.
Dean has excellent Management abilities. His promotion to the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) this year was reflective of his outstanding performance. He has routinely acted as the Interim Manager of Branch Offices, when those needs arose. He has developed the Engineering Process, the Core Asset approach, and has personally driven the IT area of the company to its present state of the art, T 1 capabilities. He is in the forefront of all new and creative technological and communication areas and has brought a depth and scope to the company regarding the possibilities that exist. As V.P. of Operations, Dean oversees all three districts, New Product Development and IT.
From a purely management point of view, Dean keeps his eyes on the money. His management more than any other element led to the turnaround in 1999. Dean is passionate about the success of V I Engineering and totally dedicated and committed to that end.
